A collector's field guide · compiled Aug 2026 · cases added Sep 2026
Ashtrays, Zippos, lighter cases, cigarette cases, holders and incense chambers from streetwear brands, the fashion houses and the old jewelers, organized by brand, by season. Four pages, 132 pieces, every one backed by a listing, auction record or official page.
Each page is organized by brand, then by season. Season chips follow brand convention (SS = spring/summer, FW = fall/winter); vintage pieces get a decade or a hallmark year. Every price is a resale estimate from StockX, auction results or sold listings, not an offer. Where two sources disagreed on a date, the page says which one is better supported and why. Things that could not be verified at all (the "Supreme" cigarette cases, the Human Made ashtray) are named so you stop looking for them.
Where to hunt. StockX and SNKRDUNK for authenticated streetwear pieces; Grailed and eBay for range and deals; 1stDibs, LiveAuctioneers and Japanese resale shops (many ship from Tokyo via eBay) for vintage Gucci/Hermès and the odd Supreme grail. Supreme Community's season archives are the canonical reference for exactly which week each Supreme piece dropped.
Rough price bands (Aug 2026). HUF/Stüssy at retail: $10–50. Supreme Zippos: $50–200. Supreme ceramics: $100–350+, early pieces higher. Palace Tri-Fergs: $150–350. Wacko Maria / NBHD ceramics: $150–350. CJ×AP ashtray: $400–500. Vintage Gucci porcelain: $150–600. Chrome Hearts silver: four figures.
Cases and holders. Carhartt WIP, FTP and Prada nylon: under $100. Palace leather and LV Étui Cigarettes: $100–320. ALD brass and Vetements galvanized: $250–600. Vintage Gucci and YSL enamel: $300–900. Chrome Hearts leather pouches: $300–2,800 depending on the silver. Tom Ford era YSL with lighter: $700–1,600, the jeweled 2004 cases $1,800–4,000. The old houses are auction territory: Georg Jensen from about €100, Dunhill-Namiki from £1,500, Cartier and Fabergé gold from five figures. Cases are faked more than ashtrays because the blanks are $20 on AliExpress: Chrome Hearts and every "Supreme" case especially.
Authenticity. Ashtrays are heavily faked because they're small and easy to stamp; the Supreme gold-trim and SS18 Zippo especially. Weight, glaze quality, box/velvet lining and the underside stamp are the tells; buy authenticated when the premium is small.
One taste note. Given a minimalist, archival-leaning shelf: the FW15 white Supreme ceramic, an Hermès Limoges cendrier, the FW21 clear-glass Tri-Ferg, or a Rive Droite lighter will age better than anything with an all-over print.
